Four Points by Sheraton in Langkawi is rated as a SPG Category 2 hotel. If anyone of you are a SPG member, you can actually buy the room for 3000 starpoints a night. Pricing range from MYR 200 above. Its actually a budget-friendly hotel.
Four Points by Sheraton Langkawi Resort was our temporary domicile for one night during our trip to Langkawi. The beachfront resort, located just five minutes away from Langkawi International Airport, is a cluster of buildings composed of the reception area and lounge, formerly known restaurant as the Eatery and now The Wrapped, two three-story buildings housing the guest rooms, a pool area with kid's pool and the largest infinity pool in the island, and another building housing the fitness area and kids play zone. However, the spacious and empty lobby does look depressing. But don't let the first look write off the hotel just yet.
I actually like how the room is being set. It was minimalist, and the white surrounding makes the room spacious. And the bed, it was just... a trampoline to Leo.
He jumps like a kid whenever he had the chance to. Linens and sheets were replaced daily, and the room has a slew of amenities: toiletries, an LCD television, a minibar, and even a veranda that opens to the ocean view.
And I really love the lounge sofa in the room with those fluffy pillows. Bathroom with bathtub was spacious. Our room is located at the first floor, with a view to die for, and a few steps away from the swimming pool.

I was stunned by the breathtaking view from the infinity pool. It’s the main attraction of this hotel.
They also provide a kiddy pool and a playroom for Leo children. We had the chance to swim on the second day of our stay just before checking out. Luckily our room is located nearby the pool.
The free WiFi access is excellent; the signal is very strong that I can even connect while strolling out on the beach. Wired internet connection, on the other hand, is not free.
We kinda checked in late as our flight arrived in Langkawi around 5.20pm. So, on the first day, we kinda just hang around the beach. The beach is not a public beach. That is a add point for me. I kinda find a lot of public beaches in Langkawi are just crap. You can see rubbish around and some of those are either floating or being washed up by the waves. The pool area is an excellent vantage point for watching the sunset. From the pool one can access the wide white-sand beach . But I have to say, I think it's a made up beach, though, as the sand gradually turns to grayish hue as you go further along; the white sand probably imported from somewhere, like that one in Sentosa beach. One sad thing is, it was jellyfish season. So I can't actually jump into the sea which I usually do.
Cone-shape jellyfish. Leo nearly touched it!
But for the coming post, we will feature some of the most beautiful beaches on this island. Well, stay tuned. More to come.
